Rosegreen 4 Cats, Supporting AMIS – Domestic Abuse Support in Scotland

Each year at Rosegreen 4 Cats we choose a local or national charity to support. This year we chose to support AMIS – Scottish Domestic Abuse Support an organisation dealing with the silenced victims of Domestic Violence and Abuse often failed by Police, Scottish Government and Local Authorities. We believe that all Scottish victims of violence and abuse should have access to sufficient funds, support and policy’s that are based on equality of provision. (The Office of National Statistics figures report that over 45% of reported domestic abuse victims are men, in spite off having little or no support, due to lack of funding and discrimination within Scottish Government Policy which is based on the theory that all men are perpetrators therefore cant be victims ).

More than half of DVA victims remain silenced because Scottish Government policy is dominated and influenced by ideological lobbying groups who receive as much as 100 million pounds with many of its senior staff on six figure salaries and expenses placing their own ideology and self interest ahead of supporting ALL victims. There are less than a handful off refuge spaces available to male victims of DVA in Scotland and even these will not always take children fleeing with there father leaving them at further risk off being left with the perpetrator who is often their mother. Help provide support if you can and help save some of the 14 men who die everyday in the UK  feeling alone with no where to turn to for support and fearing for their children  Please Donate Here

AMIS is a non-profit organisation established in 2010 to address the gap domestic abuse  in service provision for men experiencing domestic abuse. It provides direct support to men experiencing domestic abuse, as well as helping to improve mainstream service responses and campaigning for further inclusion of male victims in the wider narrative on domestic abuse. AMIS  is the only organisation in Scotland dedicated to this cause.

amisI want to make a difference. I’m inspired by the work that AMIS do helping families and children, so I wanted to raise money for them by abseiling off the Forth Rail Bridge. Please help me help them by giving whatever you can using the ‘Give Now’  link. The more people that know about AMIS, the greater their impact, so please also spread the word by sharing my page with your friends and family. Thank you in advance for your generosity, it means a lot to me, my kids and others.
